One of those lucky people you hear about, lifelong Coloradoan, Toby Terhune has always known what he wanted to do with his professional life: help people achieve the American Dream of home ownership. Formed in late 2006, Shadow Creek Homes was born of that ideal.
A recognized construction expert, Mr. Terhune has been active in the home building business across Colorado’s Front Range for nearly 25 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University in the early 1980’s, Toby started his home building career in Fort Collins. Over the next two decades, he was involved in all aspects of managing and growing home building operations, from identifying community opportunities to negotiating land purchase agreements to developing and leading key teammates in the construction of over 20,000 single family homes in Colorado.
Toby was fortunate to have been a member of the Melody Homes team from the early 1990’s through 2006. During his time with the 50-year-old Colorado company, he worked his way up from Construction Supervisor to Division President. He left the company in 2006 to act on his dream, forming Shadow Creek Homes on a set of deeply rooted, home owner centered principles.
Toby recognizes that a home is so much more than sticks and bricks and dirt. That a home building company should not build sub-divisions, it should create communities. That a house is much more than just an investment; it is a home around which lives and lifelong memories spring up.
